Mr. Jones....

So apparently I still have an occasional readership.  About a month ago I was thinking of doing away with the blogging due to business.....and as others have put it, "Real life trumps blogging". Buying a house, school, eating, sleeping-these things have made blogging drop further down on the importance scale.   However a good (but short-for me) night out with friends I haven't seen for awhile made me think "huh, maybe I'll keep writing for a bit.  So if you're still reading (Mr. Jones & others) I'll keep writing.

24:)

Ah what a good show.  I can't quite put my finger on why it's so good bit I think that it has something to do with having such a good strong leading character.  If you've read Wild At Heart, I think that this show would fit right in with some of the given examples.  Good to see Jack get a little weak as well.  Good show.  No Great Show.

Late night musings

Oh who knows if this will be short lived or not but we'll give it a go ......again.  Hard to make the time to blog-I find that I have to be really intentional or find something witty or funny to say.  Maybe the Doogie Howser method is really what is appropriate and will get me writing more.  Journaling through life.

With that said I'm sitting here, after finishing my first week of my second semester in graduate school, about to start reading my first book.  Undergrad is challening but I find that the grad stuff is killer.  Literally your job/profession is to read books.  It's good but challenging.  Hard to find the balance in life and what is important seems to come to the forefront.  Night.

"School's out for summer...."

Well actually for me school is back in after the summer. Yay! I'm going back to school at George Fox in their Master's in Counseling program. I will be attempting to obtain a Master's in school counseling and I'm super exicted to go back to school. After wandering and wondering what to do with myself after being finished with Multnomah I've finally got some direction. We'll be moving back to the Longview/Vanouver area and are excited to be traveling back to the south. Please be praying for the tranisition back into school and that Britt & I can find some jobs.

Yikes!

So there I am at work on Friday pushing carts and the like. I'm standing outside the main entrance and I hear this car start up.....it sounds like the tranmission is stuck as the engine is probably about the 'redline'. I look to my left about fifty yards away and see the car back out of it's spot. It seesaws back and forth for a bit and then stops (with the engine still revving) facing myself and another customer who are watching this unfold. Then the car decides to keep coming at us....it hops the curb, goes over a small tree and is cruising at 15-20 mph. At this point the customer and I decide to run-yes run. I go inside and tell my manager that a car has just come up over the sidewalk and crashed. Fortunately in the aftermath no one was hurt. Two trees were run over, one handicapped pole was hit, one cart and light pole destroyed. Apparently an older gentlemen got the brake and gas pedals mixed up and then got confused and scared. How he missed the corner of the deli or anything else is a miracle. If he hadn't hit the pole sodas and plants (outside the main entrance) would have been everywhere. I was pretty floored for the rest of the afternoon as my adrenaline levels were boosted a bit. Never a dull moment at good ole' Freddy's.

Change in the wind?

I'm excited because next week I've got an interview with George Fox University for their school counseling program.....and I need to go.  More later?

MMM...work

So I like my workplace, the people I work with and when I get to cashier-my job.  Unfortunately as of late I haven't been doing much cashiering b/c people in the parcel crew a.quit b. get fired c.don't pay their union dues and are forced to quit d. all of the above....  Um yeah.  So we've lost a lot of people over the last three months.

So I officially hate my job and I struggle with this b/c I try to be positive, hopeful, etc.  But I really don't like it.  I'm tired of jobs that are meaningless and I'm just working to work.  I understand that the store is in a bind and unfortunately I get to parcel, everyday.  I'm ready to go back to school and/or at least do something that has meaning.  Until then I'll wear my pedometer and watch my steps continue....31,822 a day and counting.
