I like running...kind of. I went for a run tonight and felt great during the first part of the run. In the middle things got a little rough. I found myself hoping I would conveniently run in to someone else at the lake who was ready for a conversation. No luck though and I kept pushing. I kept moving the whole time which is a good accomplishment for me. Painful to get to the end but feels so good

On New Year's Eve Britt and I for the second time ran int he local Year to Year Run. You start running at 11:50 p.m. and run for 3.2 miles. It's fun at midnight because the fireworks start going and the people who are out start cheering for you as you run by. Fun way to start off the new year.

Just a quick update on life. Britt and I survived our Europe trip and got back on the 16th. Since then I've started my internship at a middle school in town which has been going well but making things busy. Tomorrow is our first day of school which is exciting. So, I learned how to spin a pen when I was a freshman at Multnomah. I remember sitting on the floor of room 33 and reading a book for Theology Proper (I think) and trying to flip the pen over and over. So we were at dinner last night with family and my brother in law says that he saw a trailer for Rambo IV. I was beside myself because I didn't think there were any plans to ressurect that franchise. Then again Rocky 6 happened.....Over the Top 2 anyone? It was about this time last night that I stumbled down the hallway to take a look outside and see the lunar eclipse. The moon was about a third of a way covered with a slight shadow. A year ago today my mom got to go be with the Lord. It was something that was kind of expected but yet the timing was a little sudden. My mom was a cancer survivor. We been playing ultimate frisbee regularly once a week for the past 6 months or so. I'm glad that we've been able to as it's something that I didn't get the chance to do much after leaving Multnomah. What's cooler is that we're starting a summer league this year and there's a rumor that the Portland Ultimate league is trying to get a tournament here in Longview....halfway between PDX and Seattle.

Life is finally starting to settle down for us.....a little. Tonight Britt and I went played basketball......I haven't really played in quite a few years and Britt not really since middle school. The people that 'host' and organize are George and Mariana-both retired and in their seventies. There were about 11 of us in all and the competition wasn't fierce but definitely a challenge. So last weekend we went to Mt. Baker and went snowshoeing up to Artist Point which is the furthest point you can drive up in the wilderness area. It's pretty cool how far you can travel up big hills in the snow. We ate food, slept, adn then went sledding the next morning. When we traveled home we went and gorged ourselves on Red Robin burgers, mmmm.....burgers.
